Top 5 Summer 2022 Destinations.
With summer right around the corner, and it being the busiest season for travels, I thought it was the perfect time to share my top 5 summer destination predictions for 2022. These predictions come from what is currently trending on social media and destinations that have simply been getting more traction recently. However, before booking your trip, keep in mind with the popularity of these destinations you may come across a heavier crowd and higher prices. Remember if you are ever curious about how much your trip will be, you can always get a free quote.
#1 Tulum, Mexico
I 100% believe Tulum will continue with its hype and there isn’t an end in sight. Tulum got its popularity for its tropical jungle-esque vibes that were affordable and… well, ”instagramable”. The town is full of resorts that exude this energy and make you want to come back for more. Tulum’s beaches are absolutely breathtaking and it makes the city the perfect tropical escape. You can explore old temples, ancient ruins, breathtaking cenotes (swim holes), and the bluest water beaches. However, although it is still affordable, prices have gone up due to demand and popularity. It’s a quick flight to Cancun and then about an hour drive to the city.
#2 Puerto Rico
Although every single time I talk about Puerto Rico, I just seem biased, I truly believe Puerto Rico is getting some high traffic lately. I am not sure exactly what has put Puerto Rico back in people’s radars but I have been personally enjoying the attention my beautiful island is getting. The island is filled with out of this world beaches and landscape that doesn’t seem real. Puerto Rico has everything from a rainforest, volcanos, bioluminescent bays, and more. With it being a commonwealth territory of the United States, you do not need a US passport to travel there which makes it more accessible. #3 The Florida Keys
This is a complete prediction but I personally believe the Florida Keys are going to be the spot to go to this summer. Many travelers are necessarily ready to traveling internationally yet with COVID-19 still being the topic of conversation. The Keys are the perfect escape while staying in the main land. The island stretch about 120 miles and it is the go to place for scuba diving, boating, snorkeling, and so much more. With gorgeous beaches it makes you feel as if you’re somewhere in the Caribbean. The different islands, or keys, offer different types of vibes. Some will be more laid back, like Islamorada, while others, like Key West, are full of night life. The great thing is if you rented a car, a boat, or have some sort of transportation, you can get the best of both worlds and simply just “Island Hop.” You will 100% find me there this summer.
#4 Dominican Republic
Bring in all of the all-inclusive!!! Dominican Republic is the go to destination for all-inclusive resorts. And in my opinion, more than Mexico (yes, even Cancun.) The island is located in the Caribbean and surrounded by stunning beaches. The most popular destinations within the island are Punta Cana, Cap Cana, Santo Domingo, and Puerto Plata. However, although sorta known, my favorite is La Romana. It is located in the southern coast of Dominican Republic and it sits right in the middle between Punta Cana and Santo Domingo. When booking, keep in mind you will need to get taxi, UBER, or transfer to La Romana and its about 1 to 2 hour drive from either airport. La Romana is has one of my favorite beaches and it is home to one of the best all-inclusive resorts such as Hilton La Romana. #5 Jamaica
This summer I want to be by a beach listening to reggae and sipping on a piña colada. I can’t think of a better place to do it than at home of reggae itself. Jamaica has been a go to destination for many years. However, since the pandemic eased and travel open back up, Jamaica has been in many people’s radar. Jamaica has beautiful landscapes such as waterfalls, swimming holes, and gorgeous beaches. Most recently, the resort with overwater bungalows has gotten a lot of attention. The Sandals Resort in Jamaica has become very popular among those travelers who are interested in a Maldives vacation but it is not within their budget. For this reason, I believe that Jamaica will be a very popular destination within those travelers looking for total luxury.
