Weekend in Vancouver B.C.

Although we know that right now is not the time to be traveling, we also know that most of you are planning your next big vacation or quick getaway. I hope that you find this post helpful when finding inspiration for your next getaway.

Cristian and I, since moving to Seattle, have had a couple of quick getaways to Vancouver B.C that have been more than memorable. For us it’s a quick road trip to the Canadian border but for others it might be hoping on a plane. Either way, this beautiful city has so much to offer that it will make your journey there worth it. Even though this is named “Weekend In…”, this is also a great day trip to do if you live close enough!

Here are a few things to do in Vancouver B.C during your quick getaway:

1. Vancouver Aquarium

The Vancouver Aquarium is my favorite thing in Vancouver. As you may know from my Seattle blog post, I have a minor obsession with otters and this aquarium fulfills all of my otter dreams! Unlike other aquariums, Vancouver Aquarium is actually a rehabilitation center as well as a research center for oceans and animals. We loved their message and the aquarium so much, we ended up getting a season pass!

2. Stanley Park

Stanley Park is a great location to unwind and relax. If you’re looking for a place to take a nice walk or go tanning when the weather allows, I recommend coming here!

3. Kitsilano Beach

This is another great beach/park to go for a walk or unwind. Kitsilano Beach tends to be more quiet than Stanley Park so if you are wanting to skip the crowds, I recommend heading down to this beach.

4. Lionsgate Bridge

The Lionsgate Bridge is a cool sight to see in Vancouver. When exiting the Vancouver Aquarium, there is a little hidden spot to take great pictures of the bridge as well as mountain landscapes over the water. If I were you, I would keep my eyes peeled for potential photo ops all throughout Vancouver.

5. Gastown

Gastown is a super cool spot in downtown Vancouver. Here you will find great bars and restaurants that make this a great night out during the weekend. This is also a great place to take beautiful pictures of the town.

6. Anthropology Museum

The Anthropology Museum is a great stop for all travel and history lovers. Here you will find all types of artifacts from all over the world that will help you understand anthropology a little more.
